CWP doctor publishes book for mental health professionals
Professor Vimal Sharma has been recognised at a national conference for his newly published book for mental health professionals.
The book titled ‘Mental health training for health professionals, global mental health assessment tool’ was published by the Indian Psychiatric Society and released at their 69th Annual National conference. The training development is in partnership with the University of Chester and the book is based on both UK based and international studies.
Professor Sharma is a consultant in the early intervention team for West Cheshire provided by Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) and a Professor in the Faculty of Health and Social Care at the University of Chester. He said: “We know that mental health is a growing priority all over the world. Recognition of mental health problems at primary and general health care settings is important to enhance an integrated approach to mental health care delivery. I feel privileged to share the work carried out here and in other countries through this book that has been recognised by fellow clinicians and health professionals on a wider scale.”
CWP is rated ‘good’ overall and outstanding for care by national regulators, the Care Quality Commission.
