Future of mental health services in East and South Cheshire

25 August 2017

CWP, together with local commissioners NHS South Cheshire and Vale Royal Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS Eastern Cheshire CCG, are currently reviewing how to provide the best mental health services we can within the allocated funding.

This includes looking at the role that better community services can play in preventing people from going into crisis; and supporting people in their own homes and near their own support networks where possible. This is considered national best practice.

East and South Cheshire doesn’t currently have the wide range of community mental health services available in other parts of Cheshire.

Our aim is always to deliver the best care within allocated funding for people who access services and those who support them. We believe we are more likely to achieve this if we work with and listen to the views of local people.

Local people’s views have already been instrumental in our thinking and we will continue to work with service users, carers, key representative groups and members of the public.
