Sheena's Blog: CWP mental health provider of the year finalist
As the year progresses, our Trust has been able to celebrate some fantastic achievements. From awards successes, to Care Quality Commission (CQC) recognition, it has been another productive year for CWP as we strive to continue providing outstanding, compassionate care.
So, recently, it gave me great pleasure to learn about some more great recognition for the Trust. We have been shortlisted for mental health provider of the year at the prestigious Health Service Journal (HSJ) awards.
This recognition, by such an esteemed trade publication, is testimony to all of the hard work and commitment shown by our people at the Trust over the past year. We continue to go above and beyond in our provision of care and our efforts to help people to be the best they can be. It makes me so proud to be chief executive of our organisation.
In recent times, we have enjoyed many great achievements as a Trust. We have been rated as ‘Outstanding’ for caring by the CQC, we were recognised as a top performer nationally in the Community Mental Health Survey, we opened our new Coronation Road Workplace Hub in Ellesmere Port, our older people’s memory service received Royal College of Psychiatry accreditation for a tenth year, and we launched our new All Age Disability Service in Wirral.
On top of our efforts to provide outstanding care, we also endeavour to be progressive in the services that we provide. #TeamCWP recently demonstrated our commitment to Equality and Diversity, with our special Pride launch event In Chester. We have also shown our dedication to our armed forces personnel, by taking part in a pilot in Wirral, in partnership with the Poppy Factory, to improve the employment prospects of veterans with health conditions.
As we look forward to the future, we are excited about our upcoming annual Best Practice event and our Annual Members meeting, taking place at the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton in Wirral on Thursday 3 October. Here, we will celebrate what I have mentioned above, and much more. Keep your eyes peeled on our social media accounts and our website for further information about this event when it arrives.
I would just like to wish the very best of luck to our representatives in London for the final on Wednesday 6 November. Also, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of our fellow finalists. Awards nights like this are a great opportunity to celebrate the great and the good of our national health service and we are all delighted to be invited to attend.
