CWP Autism Strategy

Calling all autistic people

CWP welcomes publication of the Department of Health and Social Care’s national Autism Strategy  in 2021.  If you haven’t seen this, you can access the national strategy here.

Before this came out, at CWP we have focused on improving our services for autistic people around three areas:

  • Providing best care and support that is person centred, service user/carer experience focussed and ensures right care first time
  • Helping people be the best they can be through partnership working, engagement and innovation
  • Developing skills and people including those who access services, those who support autistic people and those who provide services for autistic people

During the Autumn and Winter of 2021/22, we will be reworking our Trust Autism Strategy to reflect the new national priorities, alongside those outlined in the Autism Strategies for our core catchment Local Authorities (Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Wirral).

We will be undertaking this work together with autistic people, of all ages.   We will do this by engaging with local groups including parent/ carers forums and the Autism Hubs in Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Wirral.

We will involve clinical teams from across all our services, as well as autistic people who work at CWP – recognising we are a place where autistic people work, as well as a place to access care and support.

Please check back to this page for updates over the next few months. We will post a link to this statement which will give you news about the work we are doing and how you can get involved.
