Check out free online support for young people
Although school’s out for summer, young people can still access free, confidential support from their local school nursing team.
MyWell-being Online is Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s online service connecting young people with qualified health professionals at the touch of a button. Anyone aged 11-19 living or attending school in Cheshire West and Chester can log on and as well as browse useful tips and advice, speak to someone around low mood, relationship issues as well as exam result worries.
The innovative online service is part of the organisation’s 5-19 Health and Well-being Service. The service has expanded the traditional ‘school nursing’ role to one that has a stronger presence in the local community beyond school settings and supports both mental and physical health issues holistically.
Val Sturgess, clinical service manager for CWP’s Starting Well, says, “My Well-being Online has been developed in response to what young people told us they want, and have seen a steady number of contacts each month.”
“Online, confidential support is important and allows us to provide support before any issues develop further. It provides an additional point of contact for health and well-being advice that wasn’t previously available.”
The online service is currently available:
- Monday 7.30pm - 10.00pm
- Tuesday 7.00pm- 9.30pm
