Western Cheshire IAPT

The Western Cheshire IAPT service provides a range of services for individuals aged 16 and over, with mild to severe mental health problems, who are registered with GP surgeries within the West Cheshire area.

What is an IAPT service?

An Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service is for adults and older people aged over 16 years, with mild, moderate and moderate-to-severe symptoms of anxiety or depression, registered with a GP in West Cheshire, and who are likely to benefit from brief psychological therapy.

Please note the IAPT service is not a crisis service and we are not able to see people who are in crisis or who need urgent help.

Who are we?

The Western Cheshire IAPT Team consists of a range of Psychological Practitioners. These include: Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP’s), Cognitive Behavioural Therapists (CBT Therapists), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapists (EMDR Therapists) and Counsellors.

The team provides services across Western Cheshire, which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston, Chester, Chester Rural, Frodsham and Helsby. These clinic appointments are provided within local GP surgeries, community clinic venues, or hospital locations.

We offer a self-referral option through our online SilverCloud programme, please see the ‘Self-Referral and How to Get Help’ button below.
