The Living Well bus will be working alongside our long COVID team for a week of public awareness.
International Long Covid Awareness Day takes place on Friday 15 March this year to raise awareness of the symptoms of long COVID, and that NHS support is available to those who are struggling with this debilitating condition.
Long COVID is a new condition which is still being studied, and some people may be unaware that they could be experiencing the long-term effects of COVID-19 or that help is available
The most common symptoms of long COVID are:
- extreme tiredness (fatigue)
- feeling short of breath
- loss of smell or taste
- muscle aches
If you’ve had symptoms of COVID-19 for 4 weeks or more, contact your GP practice. Your GP may refer you to a specialist or rehabilitation service.
You will be able to visit your nearest Living Well service drop-in during 11-15 March for advice on managing your symptoms, and to discuss whether you would be suitable for a referral from your GP.
Long COVID teams will be available all week to speak to and get advice. You can visit our timetable for locations nearest to you.
