The building work on CWP’s brand-new £3.5m urgent response centre on the Countess of Chester Health Park is entering its next phase.
The unit is an extension to the current Upton Lea community mental health resource centre and once open will work alongside the Countess of Chester Hospital, North West Ambulance Service and Cheshire Police, reducing the need for people experiencing a mental health crisis to attend A&E. The building will also provide a new permanent home for the West Cheshire GP out-of-hours (currently running from the 1829 building on the same site) and new base for the out-of-hours district nursing service and 24/7 mental health crisis line.
From Monday 16 June, please be aware of the following changes:
- From Monday 16 June, the walkway to access the country park between Bowmere Hospital and Upton Lea will be closed whilst work is underway. See map below for an alternative access route.
- A small reduction in parking spaces will come into effect outside of Upton Lea. See the red shaded area on the map below.
- We’re looking for volunteers to get involved in naming the new building. If you’d be interested in getting involved, please email cwp.
