The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated CWP’s Community End of Life Care Service in Cheshire as ‘Good’ overall, following a re-inspection this summer.

CWP provides end of life care in the community, which is for people in their own homes and locations across Cheshire. The service is based at a local hospice in Chester.

The inspection was carried out as part of CQC’s continual checks on the safety and quality of healthcare services.

Inspectors found the service provided safe care and treatment. People told CQC they felt able to access support when needed and were involved in making decisions about their care. They said they felt listened to and praised the support from nursing staff during difficult times.

The service has been again rated as good overall and for being safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led. The area of caring was not looked at during this inspection and retains its previous rating of outstanding.

CWP remains rated as 'good' overall.

Alison Swanton, Divisional Director of Therapies and Integrated Community Care, expressed her thanks to all teams involved: “We are incredibly fortunate to have such excellent colleagues. The report highlights the positive feedback from people accessing our services and this is thanks to the excellent care teams continue to give.”
