Are you a compassionate person who enjoys working with people?  Would you like to support people to overcome their mental health challenges and improve their wellbeing?

Perhaps you have some experience of working in a mental health setting or even your own lived experience of mental health, which you’d like to use to help others?

We have an exciting opportunity for seven apprentice psychological wellbeing practitioners (PWPs) to join our IAPT psychological therapy teams in Cheshire. We have:

  • 3 posts based in Chester
  • 4 posts based in Crewe and Winsford

The 15-month level 6 degree apprenticeship programme, starting in March 2023, will be delivered by Liverpool John Moore’s University and will combine both academic and work-based learning. With a starting salary of £23,949, it's a great opportunity for someone who doesn't already have a degree-level qualification to train to become a qualified IAPT practitioner and earn while they learn.

PWPs help people who are experiencing a range of difficulties such as stress, anxiety and low mood, providing short-term, evidence-based treatments to help people make positive changes to improve their wellbeing and quality of life.

The role is fast-paced, varied and constantly evolving to meet new guidance and evidence-based treatments. A wide range of treatments are provided by PWPs, including telephone and online treatment on both a one-to-one basis and in groups.

The only qualification requirement is that applicants can evidence achievement of GCSE maths and English at grade C / grade 4 or above, or an equivalent qualification. We are also unable to accept applications from candidates who already hold a degree level qualification.
